The initiative started with the formation of Grow Farms, a grower and distributor of high quality, regionally grown fruit and vegetables. By leveraging its extensive distribution network Grow Farms assists family farms to remain sustainable by helping them to diversify and increase their operations. Grow Farms’ initial producing acreage is in Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee.
In recent years we’ve expanded the local growing initiative to other parts of the country including Texas, Florida, and Georgia.
Grow Farms Texas is a joint venture between The Horton Fruit Company and Ciruli Brothers. This group has a keen understanding of the retail and foodservice sectors which allows us to provide our customers with reliable, flexible and customized services. Working with sustainable family farms in Texas and Mexico, Grow Farms Texas has year-round access to a full line of fruit and vegetables, warehousing, consolidation and repacking services. Grow Farms Texas operates out of the Amex facility which offers 95,000 sq. ft. of refrigerated cold storage.
